John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly."
Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu, Melech Ha Olam/Blessed are you O Adonai, our G-D, King of the Universe. Shabbat Shalom Mishcopa/Happy Shabbat family
Early this week, my husband and I watched a movie on Netflix called "The Take." The film is about a guy who is the best pickpocketer; however, he takes the wrong bag, not knowing there was a bomb. He was on camera, putting the bag down and became a suspect in the bombing. When the CIA working the case caught up to him, he was forced to help him find the actual criminals. The best part is when the pickpocketer needed to get information on a suspect for the CIA. He went into a bar took someone's phone to cause a bar fight, which is the distraction while he went to the guy's pocket to get the information on another suspect's whereabouts.
All through the movie, you heard the pickpocketer say it all about the distraction. The pickpocketer causes a big distraction while he steals from you. Not often, but a few times, the Ruach Hakodesh speaks to me through a movie and begins to show me how this relates to my personal life. What came to my spirit is that HaSatan ( Satan) causes distractions in our life that He can steal from us. He tries to steal our joy, peace and robs us from any happiness Adoni wants to give us. A pickpocketer is a person who steals purses or valuable things from other people, especially in crowded places.
A robbery or burglary is a violation that leaves you feeling victimized and just plain awful. But we can be aware of how HaSatan works to prevent him from robbing us. Like in the natural, we do things to protect ourselves and keep us from being a victim. But a pickpocketer is more subtle, and you don't even realize somebody robbed you until he walked away. He will have you blinded sided looking at one thing while he is picking your pockets.
A scripture that comes to mind is John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly." The Scriptures also tell us Don't Be Ignorant of HaSatan's Devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).
In closing, as believers, we have to always be on guard because HaSatan is always looking for an opportunity to catch us off guard to steal our marriages, relationships, finances, purpose, and the list goes on. So how do we protect ourselves? Well, Ephesians 6:11-18 tells us to put on the full armor of G-D.
So stay alert, on guard, and protect your valuables.
Shabbat Shalom
