“Hesitation does not always mean disobedience”

Shakinapoet

Mark 9:23-24 “23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief”.

Shabbat Shalom Mishpochah And Chaverim,

About two weeks ago, one of my clients shared how they wanted to be more obedient to HaShem's voice. They did not like being in fear when HaShem instructed them to do something. The following week I was going about my daily routine, and my client came to mind. Before that, we just finished celebrating Purim, which commemorates the time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination by the courage of a young Jewish woman called Hadassah (Esther). My husband and I watched the movie "One Night with The King" in celebration of Purim. When my client came to mind, the Ruach Ha-Kodesh (Holy Spirit) instructed me to say to my client, "Hesitation does not always mean disobedience "and have her watch the movie "One Night with The King."

When we met again for our session. I shared examples in the Torah/ Brit Chadashah of individuals who were hesitant when HaShem first approached them. Hadassah is one example of first being hesitant before being obedient. She was afraid of being killed by her husband if she broke protocol and went before the King without being called (Esther4:11). But the Devar (word) of HaShem came to her again through her Uncle saying, "think that you will not escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews." then she realized she had no choice "If I perish I'll perish" (Esther 4:16). Then we have Moishe (Moses), who told HaShem I could not talk, send someone else (Exodus 4:10). Then we have Jeremiah "Say not, I am a child" (Jeremiah 1:7). And our greatest example is Yeshua Himself when asked if this cup could be pass from Him. Yet He said not my will but your will Father (Luke 22:42)

The bottom line is that the Lord wanted my client to be encouraged. And not feel bad if they were hesitant before being obedient. We have many examples in the Torah/ Brit Chadashah where HaShem required hard sacrifices from His servants. And we see how some were first hesitant, and it took the Devar (word) of HaShem more than one attempt to get them to obey.

In closing, in (Mark 9:23-24), we see here that we believe, but we sometimes have doubts. When it comes to being obedient, it takes us believing in HaShem to trust what He requires of us. He knows what is best for us and what we can handle. Therefore, if you find yourself being hesitant when HaShem instructs you to do something; remember the example in HaShem’s Devar (His word) and pray Lord I believe but help my unbelief.

Shabbat Shalom,

Your Achoti/Sister

Shakina
