Pray & Praise Weapons of Warfare.

Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Shabbat Shalom Mishpicha And Chaverim

Last Sunday, I had a disagreement with my husband. Yes, couples have these moments, but I allowed myself to get out of control. So, on my way out the door, I slammed the door and went to the gym for two hours. While at the gym, I was so angry but angrier at myself for letting it go that far. And allowing Ha-Satan to come into my marriage and caused strife. I felt like I was caught off guard. We had a lovely weekend, and a simple conversation turned into something ugly. Once the dust settled and we made up. I began praying to HaShem, asking how I can be on more alert and not fall victim to the enemy schemes. That Monday morning, I woke up around 5 am, and I could not go back to sleep. So, I laid prostrate on the floor, put on some worship music, and began praying. I began rebuking and denouncing all unclean spirits and demonic forces working behind the scene to steal my joy, peace, and happiness. I realized that Hasatan knows he cannot get me to fall into certain temptations or turn away from HaShem. But he can use situations to steal my peace. See, mental illness runs in my family, and every day I thank the G-D for my sanity. My biological mother suffers from Schizophrenia, so I do not take my mental health for granted. In heated or high stressful situations, I may not always react godly, to put it mildly.

Therefore, after praying on Monday and asking Ha Shem to empowerment me not to lose control like that again and resist the enemy when tempted to act out. While driving to work, I was listening to worship music and began praising HaShem. And He spoke these words to my spirit "prayer and praise are my weapons of warfare." I'm not fighting my husband or anyone else but evil forces working behind the scene to steal my peace and mind. But my weapons are prayer and praise. So, all this week, I have been making time to pray and praise HaShem throughout the day. But also rebuking the enemy and preparing my Spirit for a fight just in case he tries anything. If possible, I do not want to be caught off guard because this is when He will attack. When I'm sleeping and just enjoying life and thinking everything is fine. Then out of nowhere, He sticks his ugly head in to disrupt my life.

The scripture that comes to mind is Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Now knowing who we are fighting. The question is, how do we fight? Not the same way we would fight a person using carnal weapons. But in this case, we have to use spiritual weapons to fight against spiritual wickedness. And this is what Ha Shem was showing me how prayer and praise are my weapons of warfare. But in our case, as believers, the fight never stops. Our enemy is always roaring, looking for whom he can devour. 1Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."

The Bible described him as a lion roaring, looking to see who he can devour. So, if we want to know how Ha-Satan behaves, study how lions hunt their prey. I did some research and saw how lions have predatory behaviors. Here is a statement from one source "Lions stalk their prey and, when close enough, attempt a short charge on their prey, trying either to pounce on their target or knock it over. They then kill their victim by breaking its neck or suffocating it by clamping their jaws around its throat".

Now, what does it means to be stalked? A person who is a stalker carefully watches and studies their victim and moves on them when their guard is down. This is what HaShem showed me that I cannot let my guard down. I need to stay ahead of Ha-Satan. Every morning, I make sure I lay before HaShem and begin sharping my weapons and preparing for battle. I will not be caught off guard lying around while he stalks me and attacks at any moment.

Lastly, 1Peter tells us to be sober. When thinking of the word sober, we think of someone not drunk. However, the Greek meaning is "of sound mind. " Then it said be Vigilant, which means be Watchful.

In my opinion, the way to be sober and vigilant is through prayer. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:18

18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and then we have Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

In closing, I encouraged you to stay alert while we endured these times of tribulations. People are out here protesting and worrying about the election. As believers, our fight is greater than who becomes the next President, racism, and any other issues. We cannot be carnal minded. These things are only a distraction from Ha-Satan, and while people are protesting, he is walking in the midst of them, seeing who he can devourer.
